As for the Reapers .. I think we all assumed they were actuall modelled after some crustacean. In fact, it says in the book that came with the Collector's Edition of ME3 that they are in fact pimped up insect nymphs. I forget which kind. But that was really a surprise to me. I could have sworn they were space-squid!
Yes but I guess the original design, not Leviathan I guess but the black Reapers, are that of some insect nymphs, that's exactly what it said in the book and when I think about it it's probably accurate. I don't have the book here right now so I can't quote it.
But lol, if the original race was a race of lice, I'd be daunted to imagine what their host species would look like. Damn, they'd be huge!
You mean, what the game designers took as a base for design? *shrugs* If it was given the external features of something by the gamedevs (whose ways of thinking were too earthian for my taste in their not-so-'alien' designs), it doesn't mean it has the same qualities as a creature of this universe... At least for me it doesn't.
I think there were some reference images, I'm not sure. I'll have to check the next time I can access my Collector's edition, because now I'm really curious. Read this over a year ago now so that's pretty much the only thing I do remember.
Ha ha ha, right.
Did you hear Wrex and Grunt measuring things up on the Citadel DLC? Wrex: "I have headlice bigger than you!" REALLY made me laugh.
